3 ingredient pancakes are officially the easiest, healthiest and most delicious of the pancakes. I can say this because I have eaten my body weight in pancakes over the last three and a half decades. I have truly tried them all! From buttermilk, cereal pancakes, confetti, birthday cake, deep fried, gluten free, berry, and I have used every flour imaginable.
And yet, these pancakes are the best, by a long shot! I probably make these pancakes on average 2-6 times a month and I don’t feel bad about it because they are pretty healthy. No dairy and no flour!
So let’s make them!

What Do I Need To Make 3 Ingredient Pancakes?
I can tell you first what you won’t need to make these scrumptious 3 ingredient pancakes, and that is flour and dairy!
This recipe is as simple as it gets: banana, eggs and chia seeds. You don’t actually need the chia seeds if you don’t want them, which would make these only two ingredients, but I love them.
How Do I Make 3 Ingredient Banana Pancakes?
I blend the banana, two eggs and tablespoon of chia seeds in my Vitamix blender on a low setting for just about 30-60 seconds. It mixes very fast. However, you can easily do this by hand in a bowl. Just make sure to mash the banana and then add the eggs and chia seeds. Once the mixture is blended, I use a frying pan on medium heat and just a small splash of oil to coat the bottom.
Tip: I have cooked these 3 ingredient pancakes probably 100 times and I have tried many ways to cook them. What I have found is that high heat, no oil or just using cooking spray, tends to burn them quickly in the pan. The happy medium I have found where they come out a nice brown is to keep the pan on medium and just a small amount of oil (I use extra virgin olive oil – but you can use whatever you want).
One batch should net you 5-12 pancakes, depending on how big you make them. There is not a lot of batter, but I promise it is filling, because you use two eggs, which equals protein!
What Should I Put On Top Of My 3 Ingredient Pancakes?
This 3 ingredient pancake recipe tastes almost entirely of banana, but in a good way. It is not overpowering and you cannot really taste the eggs. I like to add berries and syrup or just eat them plain. You could really add whatever you want though. I have done nutella and strawberries, plain, peanut butter and nutella, sliced bananas and nutella, powdered sugar and strawberries, and so on.
I like to keep them in one stack and throw berries on top and drizzle with syrup – this is my favorite way to eat these hotcakes.
